Simply put, the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area is our region’s “savings” account.

Founded…
November 26, 1997

Total Grants Made…
Since 1999, the Community Foundation has awarded more than 730 grants totaling more than $1.2 million to a area nonprofit organizations.

Geographic Area Served…
We serve 13 counties in West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa. (Our Service Area)

Assets…
The Community Foundation began with enthusiasm and just $1,050 based upon the belief that anyone, regardless of means, can be a philanthropist. Since then, assets have grown to over 7 million dollars and include more than 100 funds invested in diverse portfolios. (Current Funds 
 
Accomplishments…
          *One of only 17 Illinois Community Foundations chosen to participate in the Communityworks matching fund initiative to establish a permanent endowment that will focus on childcare, work force and land use and protection.

          *Among the first 200 Community Foundations to earn the National Standards Seal from the Council on Foundations for attaining the highest standards of grant making integrity and standards.

           *Involved in efforts to work with funders, nonprofits, and other organizations to strengthen capacity, heighten awareness, and provide guidance and leadership through participation or membership in the following:
    • Nonprofit Advisory Group
    • Center for Effective Nonprofits
    • Institute for Effective Leadership
    • Funders Forum
    • Western Illinois Leadership Academy
    • Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations
    • Donors Forum of Illinois
