The Arc Fund

This fund benefits Adams County Chapter of the Association for Retarded Citizens.

In 1970, a group of passionate individuals joined forces to create an organization to provide special attention to those with developmental disabilities. The Arc of Adams County dedicated itself to offering assistance to both children and adults who struggle with developmental disabilities.

The group felt that by establishing a permanent source of funding, they could ensure that the future needs of this special group would be met. The Arc Fund, created in 1998, was the first endowed fund established with the Community Foundation. Distributions from this fund benefit the Arc of Adams County. The Arc Fund helps to provide programs and assistance to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

The Arc also works closely with other community organizations like the Special Olympics and Transitions to help meet individual needs.
