Harry J. & Bernice M. Wissman Heidbreder Fund

Suzi Buzzard remembers her parents fondly.

“Dad never passed a day without a joke of some type,” she says.

Harry and Bernice Wissman Heidbreder spent their entire lives in Quincy and were wholeheartedly involved in their community. Bernice loved to play bridge and the couple regularly attended YMCA-sponsored dances with the rest of the “Saturday Nighters.” They were active in Meals on Wheels, their neighborhood, and their church.

Suzi and her brother Robert Heidbreder affectionately recall playing on the Quincy area farm their mother was raised on and exploring the back roads of Adams County with their parents.

“Because of their love of Quincy and their pride in their long history in Quincy, we wanted their name and energy to live on,” says Robert.

To honor the memory of their parents and the town that they love dearly, Suzi and Robert established the Harry J. and Bernice M. Wissman Heidbreder Fund with their Community Foundation. Because the fund is unrestricted, the money can be used where it is needed most in the region.
